Confirmation Bias Example
Here’s a great example of people seeing what they want to see in data (otherwise known as “Confirmation Bias”). I was scrolling through my LinkedIn feed recently and saw the following post about Norfolk and Millennials:
The reality is that Millennials are not in Norfolk for these reasons. In fact, they didn’t even choose to live in Norfolk. They are stationed at the largest Navy base in the world.
It would be fun to see a study on the markets most obsessed with attracting Millennials. Don’t be surprised if you find Norfolk at the top of that list.
